Academy Medical attended The Coalition for Government Procurement’s Spring Healthcare Forum, held this past April. The event focused on the recent trends and latest developments in the Federal Healthcare Marketplace.
Former congressman Jeff Miller and Chief Acquisition Officer for the VA Karen Brazell, gave opening remarks followed by two panels on the procurement process, featuring the likes of Rick Lemmon, Angela Billups, and John Tenaglia. Attendees then had the opportunity to engage in one of the five Business Intelligent Sessions: DLA/VA Shared Services, Pharmaceuticals, Clinical Input for Requirements Development, All Things MSPV, and Update on Drug Pricing Oversight.
The event was a success for West Palm Beach medical procurement company, Academy Medical. The staff in attendance learned a great deal about the ever-changing landscape that is the Federal Healthcare Marketplace, valuable information as Academy Medical continues to leverage their business model – which helps provide the best quality care for veterans, active military members and their families.
“All governmental agencies, not only the DoD and VA are coming under more and more scrutiny with respect to their spend as it relates to the return on their spend,” Ryan Isham, the VP of Med/Surg at Academy Medical says. “The VA and DoD are especially visible as they treat our heroes, veterans and active military and their families. As a result of the increased review of departmental spending, we are seeing both the VA and the DoD transition away from the “open market” platform towards more contracting.”
Academy Medical helps vendor partners gain access to government contracts that required significant resources to obtain, and as a result, Academy Medical, with their vendor partners, is able to provide clinicians and medical facilities with the equipment and supplies they need to save lives. With Academy Medical, everyone wins.
